The United States Postal Service (USPS) has renewed its Global Express Guaranteed (GXG) alliance with FedEx Express, reports Logistics Management.
Under the GXG alliance, FedEx uses address data to deliver packages around the world on a date-certain basis when they are dropped off at the post office by customers and the alliance has been in operation for five years.
Customers can take advantage of the service at a range of post office retail locations, while customers with internet access can use the service through the USPS website.
Pranab Shah, USPS vice-president and managing director of Global Business, said: "We plan to build on the accomplishments of the initial agreement, enhancing GXG's world-class service reliability by using the resources of both organizations to provide quality and value for our customers."
In related news, customers can get free envelopes, labels and other resources free of charge by registering for Priority Mail at the USPS website, reports Examiner.com.
