Clear goals, planned objectives and an idea of the desired achievement structure are among the key things to consider when planning a data quality initiative, it has been said.
Innovating technology used within the company is also important, according to Dylan Jones of Data Quality Pro.
He said: "Without a clearly defined, publicly accessible vision it can often be difficult to foster change that everyone can get motivated behind.
"I would advise that the vision does not just focus on data but on the most important asset your business has - the customer. How will delivering your data quality goals impact the customer? Make sure this is a key component of your vision for your internal 'data quality business'."
Mr Jones also highlighted the need to invest in the training and hiring of staff members as an "instrumental" way of "attracting and retraining the best data quality professionals".
