The cloud is going to allow businesses to become more flexible in their printing habits, it has been stated.
HP has already announced that it is to launch a series of web-enabled printers that can be used by both home and business users.
They will allow people to send documents to these printers from any location through their smartphones or laptops.
Meanwhile, in an email to ZDNet Asia, Lee Lee Ken, general manager of enterprise sales and services, printing solutions and services at Lexmark Asia-Pacific, feels that more firms will be keen to benefit from printing documents in the cloud and the flexibility on offer.
She said: "Printing in the cloud offers unprecedented scalability of businesses of any size."
Furthermore, Lim Kok Hin, from Canon Singapore, added that IT trends will result in a global increase in the utilization of cloud services.
Google tested its Google Cloud Print internally earlier this year with printer makers and is hopeful of launching the service in the coming months.
