Companies looking to change data strategies in 2010

Data center managers are becoming increasingly concerned about the complexities involved in data storage, a new study has shown.

The 2010 State of the Data Center report, published by Symantec, has revealed that a growing number of businesses are turning to new technologies to manage increasing complications.

Symantec surveyed a total of 1,780 data center managers from 26 different countries.

The study revealed that over 50 per cent of organizations were planning to make changes to their data strategies later this year.

"Although mid-sized enterprises tend to evaluate and adopt new technologies at a faster rate than larger organizations, they still face similar data center complexities that are compounded by adopting new initiatives," said Deepak Mohan, senior vice president of the Information Management Group at Symantec.

Meanwhile, according to Forrester Research, many large enterprises and small-to-medium-sized businesses will be looking to upgrade their CRM systems in 2010.

Many organizations had shelved plans to improve their current systems last year because of the economic crisis.
