Data quality is a highly important component of the implementation of a successful CRM solution, it has been suggested.
Writing for Smart Data Collective, Harish Kotadia said the success of a project relies on the data that the system contains and as such, data quality is an important element to any upgrade.
The expert explained that data quality became even more important when employing social CRM, as the amount of information collected can be vast.
"It is very important to have data governance framework and best practices in place before implementing a social CRM solution," Mr Kotadia confirmed.
According to Forrester Research, many large enterprises and small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMBs) will be looking to upgrade their CRM systems in 2010.
Many organizations had shelved plans to improve their current systems last year because of the economic crisis.
However, 48 per cent of big organizations and 19 per cent of SMBs are now looking to address the issue this year as the economy begins to pick up once again.
