Demand for postal and data collection services in the US on the rise, according to a mailing franchise.

David Tester, the winner of the Mail Boxes Etc (MBE) franchisee of the Year award, stated that demand for his business is escalating, according to The Franchise Magazine.

The news provider reported comments from Mr Tester that his experience working for an auction house in the UK and using the services of MBE convinced him that he would be able to make a successful business out of one of the group's branches.

"I've discovered that the demand is escalating, especially for courier services and mailbox rental, and, recently, for our Ordnance Survey-approved mapping and data service," he added.

Earlier this week, the Associated Press reported that small businesses in Florida are struggling against the added cost of recent postal stamp price hikes which saw the price of sending a two-ounce letter rise by two cents to 44 cents.
