Small businesses and retailers in the US who implement e-commerce strategies can open up a "window of opportunities", it has been suggested.
According to a report by thehindubusinessline.com, the next wave of retailing belongs to the web, with the online environment helping small and medium-sized retailers to make significant inroads and compete against big brands.
To this end, there has also been a significant uptake of technology solutions from organizations hoping to get ahead in the world of e-retail.
Indeed, the news provider cited Google which claims that e-retailing has grown by leaps and bounds, especially in the SMB segment which has seen significant adoption from SMBs for its Google's Adwords solution.
This tool helps create and run ads on Google search and has seen its SMB customers double in the last 12 months.
"SMBs have been the driver of our growth. And the trajectory is all set for it to double next year as well," Google said.
