The e-commerce sector continued to post strong growth during August, with revenue from full priced items soaring by 28 per cent compared to the same period in 2009, new research has found.
According to the results of the latest MyBuys e-commerce Wellness Index, which measures the health of the online market as well as tracking trends among retailers, the industry is in a strong position.
"The health of e-commerce continues to strengthen with these powerful August 2010 results," said Robert Cell, chief executive officer at MyBuys.
"August was very positive as total revenue grew by a five per cent mark as margins continued to be much stronger."
Mr Cell added that the result showed that retailers are successfully adjusting their marketing toward innovation.
Meanwhile, Snow Valley's International Delivery Report suggests that online retailers must do more to ensure that they are catering for the potentially profitable overseas market.
It claimed that many retailers are failing to offer adequate overseas delivery options, while many that do are experiencing problems surrounding delivery information and charges.
