The retailer, which allows individuals to sell their handmade or vintage goods and supplies, has acquired space in Equinix's SV5 International Business Exchange.
Its off-site disaster recovery and storage facility is already run from the data center provider's SV2 facility.
However, due to Etsy's expansion, it is now in need of more space to house its data.
According to Equinix, e-commerce retailers are particularly sensitive to glitches. Even slight delays in page loads can frustrate and turn away customers.
Mike Rembetsy, director of technical operations at the online marketplace, commented: "Etsy was founded to help connect makers with buyers and we have a singular focus to support a positive buyer-seller experience through technology innovations.
"By leveraging Platform Equinix, Etsy is not only able to optimize performance, but also leverage Equinix's proximity to partners and suppliers to continue to scale the business to meet demand."
