Data quality achieved through cloud computing and virtualization is being recognized by many businesses as a means to achieve greater efficiency and productivity.

However, Kaspersky Lab is warning organizations of the need to be wary of the need to address software threats and vulnerabilities inherent in these technologies.

Kaspersky corporate sales director Andrew Lintell explained that IT professionals have been resistant to change because of security fears.

"Channel resellers are uniquely placed to help companies address these concerns and introduce an appropriate security solution that will facilitate flexibility, improve overall business productivity and at the same time minimize risk," he added.

Research published by Gartner earlier this week indicated the outlook for software-as-a-service (SaaS) remains favorable.

Over 95 per cent of organizations will maintain or increase their investments, while around a third have other on-premises projects underway already.

However, the survey also revealed that most businesses are still relatively new to SaaS.
