Professionals working in the healthcare sector will find data management playing an increasingly important role in the future, it has been claimed.
Speaking ahead of the Society for Clinical Data Management annual conference, Paula Stafford, president of clinical development, has highlighted the key part that effective data management tools will play.
“As the industry becomes more reliant on data, it’s the people who understand data and can turn it into meaningful information that will shape the future of drug development,” she explained.
“It’s an exciting time to be a data management professional as the role evolves from data management to information management, which is at the core of clinical research in the New Health landscape.”
Indeed, Ms Stafford added that biopharmaceutical companies need better data in order to allow them to make more informed decisions and conduct more effective clinical trials.
Meanwhile, speakers at the conference will also look into the relationship between data quality and speed of information delivery.
