Inspire 2015 with Lexmark Software

My colleague, Evan Yarian, and I attended Inspire 2015 in National Harbor, Maryland. Inspire 2015 is the landmark event for Perceptive Software, now known as Lexmark Software. Lexmark Software builds intelligent capture, content management, process management, enterprise search and integration products that connect unstructured printed and digital information across enterprises with the processes, applications and people that need it most. This conference brought together over 1,500 customers, partners and employees to connect, learn and have some fun!

As Lexmark partner, we had the opportunity to meet with clients and team members to discuss data quality issues that organizations face. For example, we spoke to a number of companies that had a hard time with vendor maintenance and deduplication. Some higher education clients discussed their concerns for capturing and managing applicant, active student and alumni data. Another common theme was organizations collecting inaccurate data at the initial point of capture in a document, but that having that data verified on the back end.

Three highlights from the show included:

  • The opening keynote:  When I saw that executive leaders were having a two hour keynote, I was wondering how they would be able to keep the attention of their audience for that long. Little did I know how dynamic Scott Coons, Brian Anderson and Nicole Wosje would be.  Plus, they had a 108 ft. screen that they were projecting on! They shared their vision, their recent rebranding to Lexmark, introduced ReadSoft, and really let their customers know that they come first.
  • Colin Powell: Did you know that Colin Powell received his MBA with an emphasis in data processing? He opened the second day of the conference by sharing his information management experiences, communicating with his grandchildren through technology (he doesn’t tweet, but he does a Facebook page liked by 294,000 people), his leadership style and so much more.
  • Passion for these solutions from Lexmark and the users: The passion people have about what they are doing was evident throughout the Inspire event. Throughout the conference, we had the opportunity to discuss the impact data and Lexmark solutions has for individuals. It’s not just the organizations Lexmark work for;  it’s the individual user.

Thank you Lexmark for hosting a great conference for your users, partners and team. Our team is excited for Inspire 2016 next April in Orlando, Florida!
