Firms can encourage retail customer loyalty by embracing mobile technology and applications, it has been suggested.
Manthan Systems, the leading provider of Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions, claimed that mobile applications are new tools that can help retailers to create greater levels of customer engagement and contribute to brand loyalty.
"Equipped with cameras, location awareness, and voice and data support, smartphone-enabled mobile apps are becoming one of the most critical point-of-sale promotional devices for retailers," Atul Jalan, chief executive officer of Manthan Systems, told Digital Journal.
He added that the increased levels of engagement that customers get from applications can be turned into retail customer loyalty, warning that organizations which fail to take up this new technology may lose out to competitors.
Product Arts recently predicted that the mobile trends of the rest of this year will include moving to 4G, the rise of Android operating systems and greater focus on tablets.
