Organizations are increasingly looking to adopt software as a service (SaaS) based business intelligent options in 2011, Computerworld has reported.

The news provider has picked up on research conducted by analysts at Forrester, which states that enterprises will adopt new web-based interactive querying and reporting tools this year.

It explains that the technology is designed to put more data analytics capabilities into the hands of end users.

"The tools will give end users the ability to quickly navigate through and visualize business data and they will allow them to generate views and reports relevant to their job functions," Computerworld reported.

Meanwhile, other items that are also likely to feature heavily on enterprise's agenda include tools that will enable businesses to do more real-time analysis of large data volumes.

James Kobielus, an analyst at Forrester Research, explained that many of these trends are already under way, but they are expected to grow in popularity through the year.
