Organizations that have decided to implement software as a service (SaaS) strategies are now reaping the rewards, it has been suggested.
According to an article by Retail Solutions Online, businesses that have adopted the applications are enjoying lower costs, a quicker speed to return and more predictability.
"Vendors who are dedicated to SaaS as a way of doing business are delivering on this vision, and companies are reaping the rewards," the report says.
Furthermore, the news provider noted that companies are also able to save money on hardware costs because servers are installed, maintained and upgraded by a third-party vendor.
Gartner recently conducted research which suggested that an increasing number of organizations were looking to increase their spend on SaaS programs this year.
The US currently leads the way in terms of uptake of the new technology, with the financial services and manufacturing industries the forerunners when it comes to cloud services.
