USPS® expanding to global markets

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is planning to support the National Export Initiative (NEI) through its continued affiliation with the US Department of Commerce.

Currently, the US falls behind other developed countries when it comes to exporting goods, with figures showing that less than one per cent of companies do so.

USPS wants to use its power as a leading international mailer to reach out to small and medium-sized businesses that are looking to expand their global operations.

John Potter, chief executive for USPS, said: "The global market for goods produced in the US is open to businesses both large and small."

"Our global shipping services open the gateway to the globe for American exports. We're pleased to participate in the NEI to support economic growth here at home."

USPS recently announced its plans to run a summer sale in the coming months, with this news likely to be of interest to direct mail marketers looking to reduce their costs.
