The United States Postal Service (USPS) has released the fourth set of its Flags of Our Nation stamp series honoring the country's state and territorial flags.

According to USPS, the latest stamps feature the emblems of Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina and North Dakota.

Mary Anne Gibbons, the senior vice president for the postal service, explained that the commemorative stamps represent the contribution that the states had made to the development of the country.

"Many principles these states exemplify also can be recognized within the postal service," she added.

"I want to assure you, just as these flags wave and this nation holds strong, the postal service will continue to deliver for you."

The Flags of Our Nation range will be available for a period of 60 days and in order to receive the stamps consumers should send off to their local post office ensuring that they put their address data on a stamped envelope.

Earlier this year the postal service released a set of promotional stamps to draw attention to the plight of shelter pets.
