USPS® undergoes restructure to achieve long-term objectives

Rachel Wheeler Archive
The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced a series of organizational changes which it says are designed to help meet long-term business objectives.

According to USPS, realignments within two departments will help to contribute towards increased revenue growth in the non-governmental body.

Within the Mailing and Shipping Services organization, the Expedited Shipping and Ground Shipping groups have merged into a single Shipping Services group and the Product Visibility and Operational Performance department has been created.

In the newly-formed group - which reports to the senior vice president of Intelligent Mail and Address Quality - focus will be placed upon the development of new technologies in scanning and tracking systems.

The move comes after the postal service revealed that it would be reporting a net loss of $1.9 billion for the six months ending March 31st.

Meanwhile, consumers who use USPS' online services can take advantage of the online address verification tool, which ensures that the correct address data is put on mailpieces.
