What is the LLPG?

The Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) is an address database upheld by local authorities in the UK.

Previously local authorities held inconsistent and separate departmental databases. As part of a central government initiative local authorities had to modernise their processes utilising new technologies. This helps to ensure that all databases are unified and up to date to offer better services to the public. In effect, one address resource for a local authority area was created, eliminating previous repetitive processes.

What does the LLPG do?

As a continuing part of this process the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) was created to act as a group that is responsible for coordinating this aligned database approach.
