What is the NLPG?

The NLPG is an abbreviation of the National Land and Property Gazetteer. The National Land and Property Gazetteer is a single definitive and consistent address infrastructure that is linked to national reference number for each property unit. It is made up of the Local Land and Property Gazetteers (LLPG) which comes from the local authorities across the UK and acts as a central hub for all this information.

What is the purpose of the National Land and Property Gazetteer?

The NLPG also enforces compliance by local authorities with the national standard for the representation of address information. The NLPG is managed by the company Intelligent Addressing on behalf of the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) - an umbrella government organisation coordinating and promoting local authority good practice.
