What is PAS 2020?

PAS 2020 was launched in 2009 through a voluntary agreement with the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) as a growing need for direct marketing organisations to take more responsibility for a sustainable approach to its activities in regards to the environment.

What are the main aspects of the PAS 2020?

The main area the PAS 2020 is concerned with is the environmental issues caused by direct marketing relating to excessive consumption of non-replaceable resources and potentially affecting climate change. The PAS 2020 will support the direct marketing industry in its aims to manage these environmental impacts, primarily improving the amount of direct mail material being recycled rather than sent to a landfill.
