What is a Privacy Policy?

A privacy policy is a legally binding notice of how a company deals with a contact's (customer, prospect, employee) personal information.

What should a Privacy policy contain?

A company's privacy policy should contain information about collecting information, sharing information internally, data retention methods and internal data security measures.


The privacy policy should also comment on the company's secondary uses of data, including how information is shared with third parties and who those third parties are.
