The data and analytics landscape is everchanging and to keep pace organizations must revisit roles and responsibilities in order to ensure the greatest impact.
While IT departments have historically owned data, we see a shift. Recent Experian research found 75% of businesses think responsibility for data quality should ultimately lie within the business with occasional help from IT. This desire is being made a reality as companies are purchasing new tools. That same research found that the most important factor when choosing a data management technology is ease-of-use. However, organizations also have to invest equally in people and their data-driven culture to drive this change further.
